This is a partly machine/partly hand stitched quilt which I won on a silent auction bid at my work place's annual fund raiser dinner auction. I have always loved quilts and have made a couple of my own, but I will never attempt this classic pattern called "Sunbonnet Sue". There is too much applique involved and I don't have that skill perfected. :) This one was made by a co-worker's mother-in-law and is created out of 1940's replica fabric--another thing I love. I have such fond memories of growing up and always having a hand quilted blanket on bed, passed down from sweet grandmother who quilted with friends throughout the '40s and '50s.
