Long Time...No See...

Well, the inevitable has occurred. I can not keep up with my life! I seriously think that I will become a weekend blogger, out of necessity. It has been a couple of weeks since I have been able to carve out time to write, less time since I visited some of my blogger friends, but even those visits have been few and far between.

We had a lovely Valentines Day. My day at work was made MUCH brighter by the arrival of these beautiful flowers from my honey bun.

We went out to dinner at a little Chinese restaraunt with Sam (Austen was playing at a school basketball game as part of pep band). Later we exchanged cards and gifts bags. The boys each got a cache of candy and two books from us and I received yummy chocolates and a $25 gift certificate to Barnes and Noble!

The rest of life has consisted of work, laundry, cleaning and reading! I have read several books in the past couple of weeks and hope to get around to reviewing them on my book blog. I am serious about completing my book challenges! Currently I am reading, The Color Purple. It is such a sad book, yet as I near the end, I see a little glimmer of hope returning to Celie's (the main character) life. Last week, a new book arrived in the mail from Amazon. My son had preordered it for me as a Christmas gift and it was finally released. It is the new Maise Dobbs book by Jacqueline Winspear. While I am not generally a mystery book lover, I absolutely love this series.

Well, I am off to visit a few blogs and maybe write a couple of book reviews. I hope to participate in MPM, wordless wednesday, and maybe thursday 13 next week--heres crossing my fingers!

I've missed you too! I know how real life can easily get in the way of things we love to do. Your Valentine's Day sounds lovely. I'm glad you're able to keep up with reading. I think it's the best way to "decompress" after a long day, don't you? I've made a couple of attempts to do a regular photo entry on my blog, but it seems I'm lucky to get any kind of a post on there lately. It's good to hear news from you:)

So glad you had a wonderful Valentines Day! Our was extremely low key :) The flowers are gorgeous, and in my mind, you just can't beat the combination of flowers, chocolates and books!

I want to start those Maisie Dobbs books one day. I have so many new authors and series I want to read -- one day! :)

I've missed you being around! But totally understand, I don't know how everyone does it with kids and family around...it's so hard when mine are here.
Your flowers are beautiful! And chocolate too, yummy.
