Because it's May Day!

I loved May Day as a little girl. We would make adorable little baskets in elementary school, pick some flowers on the way home and leave them on a neighbor's (or my mom's) doorstep, after ringing the bell. Did any of you do this as children? I don't think they do that in school anymore. At least in Sam's school they don't. I suppose kids could get arrested for picking flowers out of someone's yard or something. Kid's don't even probably know what May Day is. Sad.

Anyway, the other day at work, Leslie my coworker, and I were reminiscing about those good old days and when I went out on my lunch break I brought back two bunches of tulips and put some in front of where she sits and some in front of where I sit. They are gorgeous and I thought you must see them....in honor of May Day of course!

We got so many compliments on them that I decided they needed to stay at work the whole week. But then I wouldn't have any tulips at home. So, on my lunch break today I went out and bought myself another couple of bunches to bring home!

So there you have it. May Day and a tulip extravaganza!!!

We used to do May baskets and my kids loved to make them, too, and leave them for neighbors. In fact, my daughter still does. Except today we were covered in snow:( and there were no flowers to be had in the garden.

P.S. hope you're feeling better!
