Simple Monday

For Today...June 22, 2009

Outside my window... It is gray and over cast, but the pumpkin plants outside my window are dark green with leaves bigger than a dinner plate. I can't wait to have lots of pumpkins vining their way around their corner of the backyard.
I am thinking... What a wonderful man I am married to, and what great kids we have raised together. I can't imagine my life without any of them. We had a very relaxed by family oriented Father's Day this year, even though one kiddo was missing due to work and distance. You were sorely missed Andrew, child of my heart.

From the learning rooms... Tuesday is the last day of school for my boys and then they are FREE for 2 months!

I am thankful for... the upcoming birth of our first grandchild!

From the kitchen... Tonight I am planning on making some of our family's secret recipe Banana Bread for a treat. For lunch I am taking to work with me some leftover macaroni salad, a recipe handed down from my 91 year old Grandma.
I am wearing... Tan capri pants and a shirt with tan and blue swirly designs on a white background, silver jewlery and brown shoes with no socks.

I am reading... Keeper and Kid by Edward Hardy
I am hoping... that signing papers on our home re-fi doesn't take too long tonight so I can go get my grocery shopping done.

I am creating... a knit lace edging to go around a flannel baby blanket I am making for my grand baby.

I am praying... that theses pvc's in my heart settle down so I don't have to have another ablation, that my mom has a blast on her Alaskan cruise this week. (she is not a boat person)

Around the house... I have the radio on a soft jazz station and Beonce's remake of Etta James' At Last is playing. I hear a kiddo on the computer and a cat trying to open the door to my bedroom.

One of my favorite things... is having coffee with my two best friends who I don't see as often as a used to back in the days when we all homeschooled out kids together. Now we all 3 have full time jobs, grown up kids and lives just as full as when we were home with our kids full time.
A few plans for the rest of the week... Four baseball games, an author book reading at thelibrary, a day off on Tuesday to take my boys out for lunch after their last day of school (a 1/2 day), then to Old Navy for summer clothes, and Barnes & Noble for a new summer reading book!

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

Great daybook, Kim! It's hard for me to believe your boys are just now getting out of school. Our nieces and nephews got out in early May down here, and go back the first week of August!

Hope you have a great day and a wonderful week :)
