A little of this and a little of that!

Just thought I would post a normal, non-meme post. I wish I could be as funny as some of the sites I visit, but I just don't have it in me. So instead you get some rambling thoughts. :)

First of all~~~~~~~~~HE is home! The college boy I know and love arrived home from college for the summer right about dinner time last night. He borrowed my Dad's Ford Explorer last weekend, to move himself home. He had that thing filled to the gills. I can't get over how much older he looks each time I see him. Welcome home, Drew! Now, because he used to sleep in a very small attic bedroom with sloping walls (which means he can't stand upright), we have graciously allowed him to occupy our formal living room which is closed off with french doors. We hardly ever use it, and we are not entertaining any out of town company this summer, so it works well for him. This is what it looks like now! Don't even ask me what the mannequin head is all about!

Father's Day was a lovely relaxing day. We had yummy food and time just to kick back and relax. After stuffing ourselves silly at dinner, the kids went outside to play flyers-up and we snapped a few fun shots.

Then Dad opened his gifts and I was able to snap a few shots of all the kids gathered around Dad of which only one was fit to post on this blog.!
Sam and Dad goofing around---hmmmm.....apparently a whole bottle of SHOUT will be needed on the knees of Sam's sweatpants!

For gifts he received some grilling sauces and utensils for the new grill. The 2 youngest boys gave him the last two Star Trek movies in the series, now Dad owns all 6 of them. Sam gets a lot of glee out watching those with Dad. He also scored the new Clive Cussler novel which should keep him busy for a week or so.

I guess I should get off this computer, go fold laundry so I can then read. But first I need to go check out Annie's TTT to see what the theme is this week.

Oh, this just in: 42 more days until we are headed to the land of sunshine and the giant mouse!!!

This was a great post, Kim. I found myself smiling all the way through. Thinking back to the days of coming home for the summer, car stuffed full. Now, I'm thinking how soon it will be that my son will be leaving home (he graduates next year). You have some good-looking boys and they all look so healthy and happy.

:-P Happy healthy family who all get to go down to California but your jilted daughter who never did get that promised trip to Disneyland since babies kept coming along. :-P (Just teasing - I know, I know, I got a wedding last summer)

Sunday was fun - thanks for dinner. And you're right, Drew does look older. Especially since he finally cut his hair!!
