flowers, temperatures, and raindrops

Hey! Guess what everyone? We went straight from winter into summer this weekend!!! One month ago we had our freak snow storm and it has been dreary and rainy and gray ever since--okay, I will admit we might have gotten a few sun breaks every couple of days, but it was still cold enough that I needed a jacket/sweater at work...(inside the building even)

Well, yesterday we broke the records for temperature by reaching 90 degrees. And I hate to complain, but that is just too blessed hot--for those of you living in other parts of the country, please keep in mind that most people up here in the Northwest do not have central air conditioning in our houses. To keep the temp in the house a few degrees cooler than outside becomes our mission! It wasn't too bad, because we knew a change was coming with ocean air blowing in last night. Today the high was in the upper 70's and it was just pleasantly perfect!

But alas, all good things must come to an end, and by Tuesday our high will only be around 59 and the rain will return for the better part of the week. Good-bye nice weather and sunshine.

In case you are wondering, the flower pictures in this post are Rhododendrons and happen to be our state flower. Just though you might enjoy seeing them as I guess they don't grow just anywhere. I am curious, what is YOUR state flower?

Happy new week everyone!

I'm back, after an unplanned break, and trying to catch up!
Your flowers are so pretty...our state flower is the magnolia. I have a tree in my yard that's blooming now, maybe I should take a picture.
90 is too hot, even though we'll get hotter....we have air conditioning but I still don't like the high temps!

It was about 90 here yesterday too, and hot! I'm glad it's warming up there... finally!

Your rhododendrons are beautiful :) It gets in the 90's here, but I certainly would not want to be in the house with that kind of temp and no air conditioning. Our humidity is always really high too, so it's just miserable. I hope you guys were able to stay cool, and don't get that hot again for a while :)

Hope you have a great week Kim!
