Headlines

The Seattle Times headline for yesterday, June 11th:

Colder than Siberia!!
Then it goes on to list some temperatures from around the world....Fairbanks Alaska: 66, International Falls Minnesota: 59, Portland Maine: 72, Oslo Norway: 72, Tomsk Siberia: 61
Seattle Washington: 58!!!!!!!!!!

HELLO?????

Add to that little mix the fact that we were finally able to play a baseball game because for the first time in 2 weeks, our game wasn't rained out. The game didn't start until 8:00 p.m., so I can assure you that the temperature was not at that high of 58 anymore! To go to the game, this is how I dressed:

A turtleneck

A sweatshirt

A winter coat

And to top it all off....mittens!!

Oh yeah, and don't forget the blanket I was all wrapped up in!

All that, and they lost the game, 10-6... but I still had a great time watching my boy.

Um, 58? Does this hot natured girl live in the wrong part of the country or what! It was in the 90's here in the deep south yesterday and is always humid, ugh! Of course in June I'm sure layering up that much is no fun either. I see it's cold in Alaska and my youngest son is there working for 4 months.

Wow! It has been so hot here that 58 sounds pretty good :)... but I know you're ready for some warmer temps. That is a lot of layers for ball. Last ballgame I went to when Emelia was playing this fall I didn't realize how cold it got after dark and had on shorts and a sleeveless top. I got SO cold that a friend and fellow mom offered me a beach towel to cover up with.

Well, we're definitely the polar opposite down here! I don't think we've had 50's for several months now. Just 90's for us until at least October. I've always lived here, so I can't imagine that kind of temps this time of year. We have 2 seasons - really hot and not quite as hot! :)

Have a great day! Hope the sun is out today :)
