weekend recap: late

KC has started hosting this weekend meme, and yes, I know I am late but I didn't see it before and I want to post in order to support KC!

Our weekend began on Friday night with a prayer send off meeting for Austen as he and the youth group were leaving Saturday morning for an 8 day mission trip to northern California. Afterwards we headed to Fred Meyer's to purchase some last minute needed items for his trip and headed home.

Saturday was Austen's 16th birthday, but there was no time to celebrate as they were headed off--in 10 vans!--by 10:00 a.m. So, I sang Happy Birthday to him, kissed him tons, (he even let me in front of his friends) and hugged him like there was no tomorrow. I tell you, hugging him now is like hugging a man--he isn't my chubby cheeked little buddy anymore!
So, for this week, it is just Samuel at home. We went and bought him some sunglasses on Saturday, and were headed to old town Kent to a little yarn shop, when I realized it was the city's huge street fair. It was hotter than hades--mid to upper 80's and parking was a nightmare. I finally found some free parking, we walked to the yarn shop only to discover it was closed! The nerve! But, Sam twisted my arm and got a hot greasy elephant ear to share with me--heavenly deep fried goodness, slathered in butter and cinnamon sugar!

Saturday night brought us to end of the baseball season team bbq and kid vs. parent game at the coaches house. A good time was had by all and the weather cooled down to a very nice evening temp.

Sunday was church, lunch at Wendys, setting up the swimming pool--(even though daddy didn't really want to as it kills the grass each year), and a trip to Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle.

It was a great weekend and now that baseball is over, we can have some lazy summer nights.

Looks like a nice weekend!
I'm trying to catch up after keeping 2 little ones for 4 days. I think I've been to the Pike Place market a time or 2 when we've visited Seattle, downtown by the water maybe? It was a fun place but I didn't get much because I couldn't do much with it since I was visiting! Your pictures are so fun!
