Show and Tell--how fun!

Kelli from There Is No Place Like Home is hosting Show and Tell Friday. Hop on over to her site and join in the fun!

I have never done Show and Tell Friday before, but it looks kind of fun. My show and tell, is a little ballerina pin that my mother gave me. I remember sitting on her bed when I was just a little girl--me, my mom and my little sister--looking through her jewelry. She had several little items that she had worn as a little girl- and this pin was one of them. My mom has hardly ever given me jewelry and she definitely doesn't pass things down to us girls yet. But I still have this pin--the sad part is that all the little rhinestones around the bottom of her tutu have fallen out-I keep thinking someday I will get her fixed. My mom is in her mid '60's, so this little pin has been around quite a few years.

I have something very similar to that. It was my Mom's and I have it now. It is fun to look at those things. Thanks for sharing.

What a sweet little pin. With the popularity of jewelry making right now you should be able to find rhinestones to replace the lost ones very readily!

Thanks for sharing.

That is just precious!! I'll bet the little rhinstones could be replaced very easily. Thank you for showing us your special treasure and for joining in show and tell!!

Very pretty. I'd definately have it repaired. It's very charming and will mean so much as the years go on.

The pin is darling. I love pins, and have a few from my mother as well. I treasure them. And you must treasure the memory of sitting on the bed with your mom and sister -- I think of those times, how I loved looking through my mom's jewelry, wondering if I could ever be grown up enough to wear such things!

That's so pretty. I remember being little and looking in YOUR jewelry box. I used to love looking at all your rings. I think I remember this pin too, or maybe something like it if you didn't have it then. Funny thing is, I remember looking through grandma's jewelry too - not that long ago. It seems like even in jr. high or high school I would think it was a treat to peek around in the things in her room while we were visiting...
