My reflections:

Wow! How has another week flown by already?

Work: What can I say? Our center is growing by leaps and bounds and we just can't seem to keep up with staffing. I have a 7:00 a.m. meeting on Monday to begin talking about how to reorganize the front desk to make it the most efficient it can be. I guess it wouldn't be real life it wasn't constantly changing! As I have gotten older, flexing has become more of a challenge for me though.

Family: Father's Day: We had a wonderful day and I wrote all about it here... Well, I have written about our cat saga already this week. The sick cat is still hanging on, but we will not spend a lot more money on him. The blood work all came back fine, so they were suggesting x-rays to the tune o $200. Kerry said, "No". So, dear old Oliver will finish up the the three drugs he is on and hopefully they will do the trick. He does seem to be doing better the past two days.

Austen is feeling quite a bit better than when I took him to the doctor on Wednesday. I think we finally have his allergies under control but the orthodontist on Thursday really gave his mouth a work over and he can hardly eat. He played in his baseball game last night and it was a real nail biter! It came down the last out, we were down by 1 (after losing a 5 run lead) and my kiddo was up to bat------yikes-------well-----he got a hit but couldn't get on base with it! He was so upset with himself and had to work real hard at holding his composure together to go shake hands with the opposing team. I felt so bad for him and wanted to just fix it and make it all better. :)

Sam had his last baseball game of the season and they won! It think they came in 1st or 2nd in their division. Thursday was their end-of-season bbq at the coach's house where there was romping good fun game of boys vs. the parents in the field behind their house. The parents won!

Dad up to bat!
Sam having fun!Big brother Austen up to bat!

The big news of the week is that school is now out for the summer!
My boys could not be any more thrilled even though there is summer reading to be done and some workbooks for Sam. Austen school sends home summer reading and assignments for all incoming 10th graders, due to be turned in on the first day of school. I am not thrilled with this as I am less than impressed with their book choices and I was already putting together a list of my own for him containing a much higher quality of literature.

The Kitchen:
My menu plan was fairly successful this week and I need to work on next week's. It is a tight week financially so I need to plan some simple cheap meals. The fried rice I made with chicken this past week was so yummy and made a ton, so there were leftovers for my lunch the next day. :)

Blogging: I felt like I was able to keep up with posting and reading my friends blogs this week much better than last week. I wish I could meet some of you new friends in real life!

I know how you feel about watching Austen in the game. It's so hard to just sit there when you know they're feeling bad. I just want to get up and give Luke a hug sometimes, which would be SO wrong!

I have a hard time with some of the reading choices that schools make, too. Especially at the high school level. Some of the books are ones that I wouldn't want to read, they're to disturbing, and they're recommending them for kids?

Glad to hear the cat is doing better! It's a tough decision, but I would be inclined to do exactly what you're doing. Just pray hard!
