Musicality

Wow--it has been a week of music activities around here. I never got a chance to write about my past Saturday--it was a cold one! Austen's high school jazz band played at our little town's Christmas fun run, called The Christmas Rush. He had to be at the park at 8:30 a.m. It was 30 degrees. I froze. They played form 8:45 until 11:00 and then we went and grabbed a quick lunch before we had to be at a downtown shopping area for Sam to preform with his group from school called Terra Musica. They play recorders, tumba drums, congas, quinto drums, bamboolas and diggery doos. The director also showcases kids on their band instruments so Sam got to have two saxophone solos. It probably didn't get warmer than 38 degrees that day so by the time I got home I was tired!

Tonight Austen had his jazz band concert--they played Mac the Knife and Misty--both were great and reminded me how much I like jazz!

I love those pictures... I should have come to at least one of Austen's concerts this week - next time they have a concert- we've gone to a couple of sam's things recently it seems but none of Austen's yet! :)
