stress reliever

Because of this:

I set up a corner in my room to sew.

To relieve stress.
To get away from the collateral damage the project in the first pictures has meant for the rest of my house.

So far I have finished 5 of these little burp cloths.
My granddaughter will be a stylish burper!

(I have a dream one day to be able to have a sewing spot that does not include a 1950's era card table!)

Burp cloth pattern was found at My Longest Year blog. Thanks Crystal for sharing your tutorial!

ruffles, lace & bows

Can I just say how much fun it is to shop for a baby girl? My 2 best friends are throwing an "Auntie" shower for my Sarah, tomorrow. Lots of ladies coming and it should be a dainty, girly, frou-frouey blast!!
After having boys my last 3 pregnancies, the pink frill buying has kicked into overload. I can't wait to see how blessed my big girl and her little girl are tomorrow. Oh, and I can't wait until November when we actually get to welcome this little girl into the world. I will post pictures of what I purchased for baby girl tomorrow after the shower. I know that my daughter reads my blog sometimes and I don't want her to see...

...I can say that my dream of buying something girley at Old Navy has finely come true. :)

new beginnings

Look what I won at my work place's annual formal fund raising/auction ball Saturday night....

Are those not the sweetest little itty bitty buttons? I couldn't resist bidding on this hand crocheted bonnet, sweater and gorgeous blanket set. Want to know why?

I am going to be a Grandma!

My sweet daughter and her husband are expecting their first baby in November! What a surreal experience it is when your own baby girl tells you she is going to be a mommy. We are all so excited. This wee one will be the first grandchild on our side and my son-in-law's side.
Come November, Sarah will be a mommy, I will be a grandma, my mom will be a great-grandma, and my little 91 year old grandma Hattie will be a great-great grandma. Oh my!
