Friday Feast

Appetizer

What does the color dark green make you think of?

Spring! Sprouting leaves and growing grass. Also, Saint Patrick's Day.

Soup

How many cousins do you have?

I grew up thinking I only had 3 cousins. Then, about 8 years ago, my aunt and uncles daughter, given up at birth, found them! So, even though I still have yet to meet her, I guess I could say 4 now!

Salad

On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being highest, how honest are you?

I think I would have to say a 9.

Main Course

Name something that is truly free.

God's saving grace!!

Dessert

Using the letters in the word SPRING, write a sentence.

Springing perennials run in nosegays gaily! (very lame, I know. But hey, I am still sick!)

Soup

On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being highest), how much do you enjoy talking on the phone?

I would say maybe an 8--especially if I can multi-task while doing it!

Salad

Focus on the Family, Campus Crusade and our church!

Main Course

What is a food you like so much you could eat it every single day for a month?

Hands down.....Pasta!!! Any kind of pasta with anything on it!

Dessert

Have you or anyone in your family had the flu this year?

Oh, thank goodness no! We all got flu shots and even though they are saying the shot this year didn't guard against the flu so well that is going around here, I do think it did keep us well. The flu bug has been flying around the schools and where I work.

Friday Feast

Appetizer
What is your middle name? Would you change any of your names if you could? If so, what would you like to be called?
My middle name is Rene (with a squiggle above the last e). I would love to change my name--both middle and first. I have never liked Kimberly--(1/2 the girls born in the '60s were named that!) and I recently discovered that the spelling of Rene my parents chose is the French male version--great....
I would have like to be called Isabelle or Sophie or even something from one of my Grandmas. One was Gladys Aeline (I like Aeline) and the other is Hattie Christine. My Grandma Hattie will be 90 in April and is still going strong!

Soup
If you were a fashion designer, which fabrics, colors, and styles would you probably use the most?
I would use a lot of soft pinks, creams and grays (with a little black thrown in). My fabrics would be soft cotton knits and soft linens and the styles would be 20x more modest than what is being designed now.

Salad
What is your least favorite chore, and why?
MOPPING!!!!!! I just hate it and don't even know why--maybe because it makes my back hurt and dirty, well used mop heads gross me out.

Main Course
What is something that really frightens you, and can you trace it back to an event in your life?
I used to be really afraid my kids would get meningitis and I can trace it back to when I was little and my mom babysat a little boy who contracted it and he almost died. I still remember seeing his picture in the newspaper after he was almost all recovered in an add for Children's Hospital. I don't worry about that so much--but now I worry a lot that my kids are going to get in driving accidents....

Dessert
Where are you sitting right now? Name 3 things you can see at this moment.
I am at my computer desk in the family room. I can see my monitor, my camera and one of my rag dolls.

Feasting Thoughts

Appetizer
When was the last time you received a surprise in the mail, and what was it?

It has been so long that I can't remember. Sadly, mail for me just consists of junk ads and bills!

Soup
If you could have a summer and/or winter home, where would you want it to be?

Most definitely on the Washington coast--somewhere north of Ocean Shores or maybe down by Long Beach Washington. I love the beach whether it be summer or winter so that would be a perfect location!

Salad
Pick one: pineapple, orange, banana, apple, cherry.

Even though it makes my mouth break out, Pineapple is the winner, hands down, every time!

Main Course
Describe the nicest piece of clothing that you own.

All of my Christopher & Banks sweaters and tops! I love that companies clothes--stylish but just nice and classic.

Dessert
If you could forget one whole day from your life, which day would you choose to wipe from your memory?

The day I took Sam to school for the first time (4th grade) after homeschooling him all his life. I was still waiting for my new job to start and my older son, Austen did not start public school until the next school year--(this was all happening in December--and he kept homeschooling the rest of that year with a friend of mine. ) I dropped Sam off at school and drove home where it was just Austen and me where just the day before it had been the 3 of us. My heart was broken and the house felt oh-so-empty without my little Sam boy.

Dessert
What do you consider the ideal age to have a first child?

Hmmm....maybe 25? Not too young but not too old either. Everyone is different though--I had my first one at age 20 and I don't think I did such a bad job even being as young as I was.
